Pierre's great grandfather, a Clair in Clair-Dau, put Marsannay on the map when he created the first Marsannay Rose in 1919 and it became sought after in Dijon. Bart's rose is a blend from several different parcels. It's excellent, mineral, with racey persistance and can age for two to five years. It's roughly two thirds direct press and one third saignee. Ripe strawberry and raspberry fruit with earth and mineral notes, as befits the limestone terroir of Marsannay.
