Vines planted in the West in 1992 on a plateau of brown limestone marl in the Agneux caves area. Paul and Marie Jacqueson make a point of aiming for optimal ripeness of the berries. Aged for one year in oak barrels, 15% of which are new. “La Barre” 2023 is more fleshy than 2022. We find a pulpy and particularly attractive aromatic theme: redcurrant, peony, blackberry, clove, and a subtle nuance of undergrowth.
