Nasara Metre was born in Nazareth, and followed her children to the US once the British Occupation began.This Arak is our take on the traditional anise spirit of the Levant. The image on the bottle is Mary's Well, the Nazarene landmark. We have been working on this spirit for quite some time, with guidance from Eddie Chami of Mersel Wines in Lebanon, and this is our first release large enough for broader distribution. With a couple of failed Anise crops on the farm, we are still sourcing organic anise from California for distillation with our own grape spirits, but we also add a handful of farm botanicals, and we’ll keep trying to grow Anise here until we figure it out.
