Amaro is a very popular after meal drink from Italy that combines flavor from herbs, fruits or botanicals from the area where it is produced. Usually examples from North Italy contain more bitter herbs, typical of the Alps. In the South, where a lot of citrus family plants grow, orange and lemon peel is a common flavor. Amaro dell'Etna comes from Sicily but from higher altitudes and it combines these two flavor profiles. While you have bitterly flavors in the beginning, you will have a smooth citrus finish at the end. With an ice cube, it's fantastic!
