Maison Skyaasen is a micro-négoce project Joachim and Olivia Skyaasen in Mersault, Burgundy. The Pinot Noir for this wine comes from three different parcels within the zone of Pommard. One is ‘Croix Blanche’ next to the old station on the Beaune side, one is ‘Poisots’ on the Volnay side, and the last is ‘Noizon,’ up above on the hillsde at higher altitude. The latter has very shallow soils with old vines planted straight into limestone, whilst the other two feature a deeper layer of clay in the topsoil. This wine is fruit-forward, with some earthy, savory notes, with high acid and tannins.
