Kopke is Portugal's oldest wine export company, founded in 1683, and has earned a reputation as one of the finest producers of Colheitas (vintage tawnies). 2004 was extraordinary, complete with a final flourish of sunshine just before harvest to give the grapes that perfect ripeness. Kopke aged this tawny ten years in wood before bottling in 2014. On the palate you'll find dried cherries, figs, and sultanas with caramel and roasted pecans. This is perfect with a cheese plate or all on its own as liquid dessert.
