Bucklin Description
Old Hill Ranch is a historic California "Grand Cru" if ever there was one. Planted in the 1885, this dry-farmed, organic vineyard is the pinnacle of old vine viticulture and farming. The Ancient Field Blend ends up being about 65% Zinfandel, co-harvested and fermented with Grenache, Alicante Bouschet, Petite Sirah, Grand Noir, Syrah, Carignan, and Mourvèdre. The old vines gives this a dark and brooding nose: brambly, tarry, and very spicy. The ripeness here creates an opulent entry, with lots of depth on the mid-palate and a delightful, creamy old-vine intensity.
