Sylvain Martel trained as a winemaker in the southern Rhone before he moved to Beaujolais where he bought old Gamay vines at an altitude of 450 meters. Bessay is single vineyard in the Northern most part of the Julienas region. After semi-carbonic fermentation is made, the wine is aged for nine months in old barrels. It's an elegant wine that shows depth and concentration. This wine has robust structure, grippy tannins and ample dark berry fruit.
