This is a blend of 60% Chardonnay with 40% Elbling, and to some extent, this is what the wine tastes like. It has the stoney, essential quality, the punch of Elbling with a bit more of the glossy, quinine-like fruit of Chardonnay – a bit, but not much, of the curves of Chardonnay. It has an elegance that the sharper edges of the Elbling miss. The wine is light and almost airy on the palate, blending a suave side of yellow fruits with the freshness of spices and zest. The finish is airy, fully dry, and incredibly refined and of superb length. This is a remarkable wine.
