Wirz Vineyard in Cienega Valley is as unique as it gets in California and truly one of our favorite places in the world for Riesling. The vineyard is 60+ years old, head trained, and dry farmed at 100ft. This is a later ripening vineyard, with hang-time often into late October or even November, even at the low yields that dry farming dictates. That ripeness comes through in this Riesling, with notes of Meyer lemon, white peach, fresh cut flowers, grapefruit zest, limestone and a subtle presence of white pepper; it is a medium-bodied wine that is bone dry through and through.
