Les Abeilles from the Pierre Girardin estate is a 100% Chardonnay Vin de France produced from a south-facing plot planted in 1959. The soil is poor Jurassic soil and the grapes are harvested by hand as whole bunches. Aged for 12 months in 456-litre oak barrels (100% new) then 8 months in stainless steel vats. The result is a rich, concentrated, powerful wine with salty, mineral notes.
