At Meinklang’s vineyards in Austria, Pinot Gris vines are unpruned and allowed to grow wild. This allows the berries to grow thicker skins, ideal for maceration. The resulting wine is generously aromatic with notes of peaches, ginger, and nutmeg. The complexion is a cloudy rust tinged orange (unfined, unfiltered). There is a granularity in mouthfeel. It’s a wine for cider fans.
