100% Tannat aged in 400L wooden barrels, 1/3 of which were new. Madiran is a BIG wine, extremely structured and full of dark, dense fruit notes. Having one from 2014, where age has somewhat smoothed the tannic sharpness and introduced secondary flavor notes (think black fruit, forest floor, leather), is such a treat. This almost tastes like an old Bordeaux. Decant at least an hour before serving and have with red meat!
