Produced from 90 year old Zin vines from the Shergill vineyard in Lodi. Thanks to some whole cluster pressing, this Zinfandel is concentrated and fresh, offering bright fruit flavors of red plum fruit, leather, violet and anise. Fermented in concrete and steel before aging 10 months in old wood. Patrick Cappiello is getting better ever year, and his focus on terroir transparency is commendable. Only 250 cases produced.
