The Fornerot family has roots in Saint-Aubin that go back more than five centuries. Their most recent imprint on this southerly part of Burgundy is owed to Jérome Fornerot, who launched his own domaine in the early ‘00s. His wines don’t carry the names of Burgundy’s most famous villages, but they do offer fantastic value for the price. This Pinot Noir is energetic and alive in the glass, showing cherry, kirsch, sweet spices and a hint of freshly cracked black pepper on the long, focused finish. A can't miss bottle and one of my early favorites in 2023!
