Aux Serpentieres is named, according to the traditions of the Middle Ages, for the plants and animals found in the area. In this case, snakes—a sign of a healthy ecosystem. It lies about 3km from Corton, just outside the village of Savigny, and is known to grow the most structured and complex of the Savigny vineyards. It benefits from a southern exposure, maximizing heat and sun in this otherwise cool region. For years these wines were sold privately; this is one of the first vintages to be exported!
