The high elevation vineyards of the Uco Valley are what make this Malbec so special. Malbec struggles to maintain acidity in lower elevations but does fabulously in higher elevation spots where there is a large diurnal temperature shift (cold nights and sunny days). Forastero (Spanish for "stranger") is a dense and layered red wine, with loads of crushed plum, macerated blackberry and lovely tea and spice notes. Grapes are farmed from vines ranging 1,100 and 1,500 meters in elevation. Organic.
