Domaine des Sables Verts Description
This silky and savory Cab Franc comes from 70+ year-old vines on the Les Poyeux vineyard. If that name rings a bell, it’s because Poyeux is famously produced by Clos Rougeard. A wine with a complex nose of very ripe red fruits and hints of peppery spices. Ample, velvety, and fresh in the mouth, with a long finish. Sables Verts, or “green sand” refers to a soil type that can be found in the best vineyards of Saumur-Champigny. This domaine is run by an energetic young couple and should be on the radar for Loire wine lovers.
