Monastrell is our region’s classic variety and with Altos de la Hoya we aim to capture its essence. Each harvest, we select from our top lots, using only wild yeasts for fermentation. This wine is deep ruby, with ripe, powerful scents of red and dark fruits, minerals and spices. It finishes fresh and long, with a repeating dark fruit note. An exceptional combination with red meats and stews.

The 2020 version comes in at 14.5 percent octane and delivers a deep and complex nose of cassis, black raspberries, bonfire, a touch of licorice, a good base of soil, a bit of cedar and a lovely array of spices in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, focused and complex, with a good core of fruit, moderate tannins and a long, complex finish that closes with just a touch of raisiny fruit tones. A very good Jumilla and a fine value.
